ENSEMBLE

Fascinated by the sound possibilities of this ensemble, the three young musicians founded the TRIO CHAROLCA in 2005.

From 2005-2015 was Charlotte Balzereit (Vienna Philharmonic), as a founder of the ensemble, the harpist, followed by Lena Maria Buchberger (State Opera Hamburg) until 2018.

Just as a new member of the ensemble did Andreas Mildner take the part of the harp player. 

 

Since then, they have built up an extensive repertoire comprising original compositions, arrangements of suitable older works as well as contemporary pieces. Today, Trio Charolca performs an extensive concert schedule and is gradually gaining a reputation as one of the leading ensembles of its kind.

An interest in new music as well as an enthusiasm for exploring new sounds form the basis for their contrasting and intelligent programmes.

In addition, the trio collaborates with composers such as Sofia Gubaidulina and the late Harald Genzmer, opening new perspectives and inspiration for their concerts.

For the Label Thorofon the Trio recorded a CD with works by Harald Genzmer.



Anne-Cathérine Heinzmann is currently regarded as one of the most renowned german flutists of her generation. She has been invited to perform at numerous international festivals and appears regularly in Germany and worldwide as a soloist, orchestral and chamber musician.

Growing up in Hamburg in a family rich in musical tradition Anne-Cathérine Heinzmann began her musical education at a young age.

Her teachers include Prof. Jean-Claude Gérard (Stuttgart), Prof. Jeanne Baxtresser (New York) and Prof. Miachael-Martin Kofler (Salzburg).

She was a prizewinner in many national and international competitions and has been supported by the 'Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes', the chamber music trust 'Villa Musica', the 'Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben' as well as the German Music Council.

1999-2016 Anne-Cathérine Heinzmann has held the position of Associate Principal Flutist in the Frankfurt Opera Orchestra.

In October 2009 she was appointed Professor for Flute at the 'Hochschule für Musik' in Nuremberg where she tought a very successful flute class.

Since October 2018 she was appointed the same position at the worldfamous Folkwang University of Arts in Essen.

 

German violist Roland Glassl first gained international recognition when he won the first prize at the prestigious Lionel Tertis

International Viola Competition in England.

He was also awarded top prizes at the Washington International Competition for strings and Primrose Viuola Competition, in addition to many

other national and international prizes.

Roland Glassl made his highly acclaimed debut recital at Wigmore Hall in London and regularly appears in recital around Europe, USA and

Canada. As chamber musician he has collaborated with many worldrenowned artists including Julia Fischer, Michael Sanderling, Lisa Batiashvili, Miriam Fried, Walter Nothas, Atar Arad, Leon Fleisher, Miachael Tree, Shigeo Neriki adn Hariolf Schlichtig. He has also performed with the Henschel, 

Manfred, Danel and Avalon string quartetts.

1999-2015 he was the violist of the Mandelring Quartet with whom he has toured Europe, North and South America, the Middle East and Asia.

Born in Ingolstadt into a luthier's family with a tradition of many generations of violin making, Roland performs on a viola made by his father.

Roland Glassl first studied violin at the Musikhochschule München with Ana Chumachenko, graduating with distinction. Fascinated by the deep,

warm sound of the viola, he continued his studies in the United States with Atar Arad at Indiana University.

2004-2018, Roland was professor of viola at theMusik Hochschule Frankfurt as successor of Tabea Zimmermann and was appointed in October 2018 as the same position at the "Musik Hochschule" in Munich.

 

 

Andreas Mildner counts to one of the most interesting harpists of his generation. 

with age of 6 years he discovered his passion for this instrument  and entered in 1999  the pre-school class at the "Hochschule für Musik Würzburg" with Prof.Gisèle Herbet.

He finished his studies there with highest rewards.

Andreas Mildner won several prizes at international competitions. 2005 and 2008 he got the only finalist with his instrument in the well known competition of the german National Musik Competition and was rewared as a soloist.

Also he won prizes at the competition of " Musikalische Akademie Würzburg (1. Preis and special prize) and at the" Deutscher Hochschulwettbewerb". Recently he won the „6th International Harp Contest Arpista Ludovico“ in Madrid next to the 1. prize also 2 special prizes for the best interpretation of both Solo concertos (Händel und Debussy).

17 years old he played his solo debut with  the check chamber philharmonic Prag. Since that he is invited as a soloist worldwide.

In 2016 he was appointed Professor for harp at the "Hochschule für Musik "Würzburg.
